High School Assemblies A client from a major real estate firm called recently and asked if Phil would speak to 400 realtors. She asked if Phil was comfortable with a crowd that large. She laughed at her own question when Phil shared his recent experience talking to 2000 high school students at once in a hot gymnasium. Yes, it takes someone with experience to reach each of those students sitting on the hard benches wondering if anything this speaker says will matter to them. 1. Choices Matter! Today is important for tomorrow's successes and many young people want to discount the importance of the choices they make right now. Phil's message is powerful! It is fun and yet there will be moments when the entire crowd will be completely silent because they realize his message is for them. Phil will talk about the six second decisions that so often redirect the student's opportunities. He addresses the distractions that cause them to loose focus. This presentation promises to create discussion opportunities for days and weeks after the assembly. 2. Creating A Community of CARE This is the most requested school assembly Phil has. Phil looks at the audience and simply asks, "What kind of school do you want to go to - what are you willing to do to create a school where people care?" Recently a friend asked Phil following a school assembly, "Do you think they are ready for a message that personal? " Phil responded, "Did you notice how quiet they were, and how many students came up to talk and share their own story following the assembly?" The four points of this message are: C We need to communicate carefully on our school campus
"Your message today really touched me. I lost both of my parents last year and I hope students were listening when you told them how to show others they CARE!"
Middle School Assembly The Power of a Dream In a powerful way, Phil, takes students on a trip down memory lane as they remember how they made earlier dreams come true and how they can do it again. They will laugh, some will cry, and they will understand again that if others can see their dreams come true, it is possible to see their own dreams happen. Phil blends in a message of how the distractions of cigarette use, drug and alcohol abuse, and negative self-talk can cause people to lose sight of their dreams.
"Phil, I remember you spoke to us last year and I still remember what you said about how we talk to ourselves. That was really powerful for me - I talk to myself very differently now." -
While Phil is on campus Leadership Workshops These workshops vary in size and scope. Phil will present 90 minute sessions following assemblies at a school and at other times these are stand alone days for leaders. The stand alone days can be half day or full-day sessions. The best size for these workshops is 30-100. The value Phil brings in these sessions is a blend of great ideas (Dash for Cash Fundraisers) with practical leadership skills (the ability to Anticipate). Students and advisors walk away both motivated and with new tools and ideas to lead their programs more effectively. Class Visits
